Oh, and please do not try to call me ignorant because you misunderstand what I said. I agreed with the idea of shooting down the trade and even said that the first person who disagreed was probably doing it because it was lopsided, I was just making sure everyone understands the right thing to do.

so does this mean that this trade is void now and i still got those 3 players? Also i'm sorry about all this and i'll try my best to make the best trades possiable also if i still got those 3 players on my roster i will talk to people about tradeing them. At the moment though i'll give the Rangers the better chance to make a deal for any of these 3 players as it was him who was also affected by this so if you want any of these 3 players let me know but O'neil will probelly go to the rangers if we can work something out, Again i'm sorry and hope you can all forgive me

Internet. Serious business.
Slapstick, I find it absolutly hilarious, that when you're talking to me directly, you agree that it was a complete steal, and Toronto was stupid to make the trade. Then, not a day later, you come and attack me on these boards, saying I had ulterior motives for vetoing this clearing biased trade.

I was not trying to name you because I did not want to look like an ass to you. I was really just trying to get the message out that people need the right reason to cancel a trade, and this was the first example that popped into my head. I really do think you did complained for the right reasons, and I always did (I actually mentioned this somewhere uyp there) and I apologize for putting you on the spot. I really hate to do these things, but it happens. I hope you understand what I am saying and accept my apology

I have voted yes because I think that we shouldn’t veto a trade because we don't agree with it. I think that the only reason we could veto a trade is if we have doubt someone is cheating. I think that in real life, there are good and bad GM's. Some bad will get better. Good gm's are good at negotiating and getting the most of the other gm's and that means reading his weaknesses. Superbruins might have learned of this one. He might be one of the harder gm to steal right now. Maybe the advice I could give to him and the others (not trying to say that people should learn from me) is, don't trade for fun. If you want to rebuild, use the other gms. Say that some people are interested in your players. It will only make the price go higher. Also, when your players have high values, trade them one by one. Not all together. Wait a few days so you can contact more people. Just my point of view, I don't really care that much of what will happen with this trade even if I will have to play 8 games against the leafs. They still have a lot of work to do to be as good as my Habs. ps: By seeing the comment in this thread, I think we will have a great season.

I think that if a GM is to reject a trade we should have a fairly in depth reason why. I'd like to see people saying why they reject the trade. This trade doesn't look that off to me. IMO Straka is a solid 1st liner = Lindros a injury prone 1st line Ozolonish a decent offensive D = O'Neill A decent 2nd liner Nylander a solid 2nd liner = Allison also a solid 2nd liner plus Cliche (don't know him) but looks okay. is thrown in for good measure No trade is going to be totally 100% even. otherwise why trade... *some information taken from a conversation with Rahim* <--- he wanted a reference

Yup, hehe what Jason said . Basically for me, I really do not see this trade lopsided at all, in fact, it is fairly balanced to me. Reading though the thread, no one has actually said WHY the trade is lopsided, at least not a clearcut reason, hence my confusion. Straka is the key player in the deal. Lindros, O'Neill, and Allison are lst/2nd liner quality, but not top notch like Straka. Nylander = solid 2nd liner, and Ozzy is a lst/2nd dman, with high offensive upside. Looks good to me. You are not going to get 100% balance, that is impossible, in any trade. Although, someone else may have not done the trade, it does not mean that it is a bad trade by any means. Evaluating trades must be looked at objectively. Everyone has their own way of making a trade, but as long as it is fairly balanced by the value of the assets being traded to both parties, then the trade is good to go. Thus, this trade seems fairly balanced as described by the breakdown above. However, if someone could please provide an explanation as to why the majority thinks the trade is lopsided, I would love to hear it, because after talking to Jason, him and me honestly could not figure it out ;D. Looked through all the threads on the issue, but could not find a reason to the rejection(just on the deal by itself, without the leafs gm withdrawling the deal afterwards). On the other hand, I do agree wholeheartedly that once a trade is accepted by both parties, then it cannot be rescinded unless the GMs say it is lopsided, and why (most important part) . Just want to make sure we obtain a clear understanding guys, in a peaceful manner, and make sure that the league runs smoothly for future/possible trade discussion .

I have a couple things to say.
Firstly, to everybody, See at the top of your posts. It says modify.
Please click that and modify posts instead of double or triple or quadruple posting.
Second: From my experience O'Neill is a stud in this game. I've played about 6 games now, and every time he is a 80+ point scorer almost every season.
Third: This thread is locked and the trade is canceled due to both parties backing out.
