I am a veteran of the first ehm (freeware) game, and i know all about the importance of Potential and Consistance ratings. I have heard that this game has those rating also, but that they are hidden. I remember reading somewhere that their was an editor for EHM2005 that allowed people to view these. If this is true then I have to assume some of us have knowledge of this and will be using it in this league if it is possible. Those of us who don't have knowledge of this will be at a dissadvantage in the league.
What do you all know about this issue, and if it is an issue what should we do about it if anything?
Thanks, Danny GM Phoenix

I don't think you could do that when it's on an online league, since the files are probably not accessible to anyone but Hank.

I think the valid point made is that you can download the current rosters that we use and view the ratings of players in the (pre-game) editor. While I haven't done this, i can certainly see the potential problem. However, many of the ratings in the editor (I've used it for previous personal games as I'm sure most people have) are variable, meaning they will give every player a random attribute rating within a certain band, so any predictability for player's abilities in this game will be fairly uncertain.
You're right tho, the real values can only be accessed by the creator of the game, Hank, and I'm sure he has no intention of looking at these. (The in-game editor is extremely unstable anyways)

I love this game because of the roll-of-the-dice intangibles that scouting brings. It would ruin it for me if I was able to pick up great prospects by cheating. Besides, my Wings don't need any help.

Scouting is the best part of the game, why ruin it with the save game editor :-? Only time i used the pre-game one was to add me and my friends to a game
